I recently had to reinstall visual basic 6.0. I also reinstalled the msdn files that came with vb6. When I need to search for an item in help, I type the keyword into the text box on the index tab.
If I double click any of the possible results that are returned, a dialog box is displayed with the message Please Insert the cd-rom disc labeled 'MSDN VS 6.0 CD2' into drive E. Previously, I did not have to have the msdn cd in the drive to access the vb help system. How can I get the help files on to my system?? 'David Watson' wrote in message news:%R.@twister.tampabay.rr. When I ran the installer, I realized that there is a custom install that allow you to pick the components to install.
I picked all the VB stuff but didn't pick the Visual C. Try re-installing, custom, and pick all the components you need (providing you have sufficient disk space).
Re-install the MSDN Library, but this time do a FULL install, that will put all the files on your hard drive so you don't need to insert the CD, can take up to about 80Meg of hard drive space though. Hey all, Im a hobbiest programer, i was given Visual Studio 98 for christmas and everything was great, I was recently robbed and along with my comp, all my software was taken, I have emergency coppies of some programs (VB 6.0 and VC 6.0) but the rest are missing, I need my MSDN library but when I contacted microsoft they told me I'd have to buy all new MSDN CDs, which I cannot afford, I was wondering if anybody would be willing to send me a copy of the MSDN disc(s)?
